Our aim is to provide friendship and activities to Chinese people in the Riccarton Community. There are about 30 people who regularly attend each Saturday afternoon. Some people like playing cards, chess or mahjong. Some like drinking tea and chatting, singing or dancing together. There are also Chinese newspapers, table tennis, magazines and Bible studies that are available. We are also able to plan day trips to places of interest at least twice per year.

As most of these people are new residents, having followed their children to NZ, they can easily feel alone and isolated. Many can't drive or speak English well. Everyone enjoys the friendships being made and can experience God's love as we serve and offer practical help or Christian resources. We pray that many more people will be helped and that we'll share God's love with them all. We are able to make use of excellent programmes about China, Alpha, and other Chinese pastors.
